North East Fife Life monologue project

The Byre Writers has been awarded funding from St Andrews Community Trust to work with North East Fife Community Hub users and volunteers to write monologues about life in the area. 


Wednesday mornings 10am-12pm

Twelve week project:12th January to 30th March.

The monologues will be performed by local actors and filmed, with a screening of the films being held at the Byre Theatre on Wednesday 27th April at 7pm.

Finding Inspiration through Fife folklore (February onwards)


Thrilled to have been successful in our application for Live Literature funding for a series of workshops based on 'Finding Inspiration through Fife folklore'. Huge thanks to Scottish Book Trust for the funding and to Sandra Ireland Author who will lead the writing sessions.


We will be working in collaboration with volunteers from Fife Folk Museum and St Andrews Heritage Museum and Gardens to write poems and short stories based on Fife folklore.

Participation is by invitation only.


There will be a reading of the pieces at St Andrews Heritage Museum and Gardens on Wednesday 15th June at 2pm.

One Act Playwriting workshops with Lisa Nicoll of In Motion Theatre.

Participants from various Scottish Community Drama Association Fife District groups and local writing groups were invited to the 8 week project, learning how to write a one act play.
